The farmholidays Poggio Macinaio is an excellent point to start to visit the nature , the historiy and culture of this place, situated about 4 km from Roccastrada halfway between the Tyrrhenian Coast of Maremma and Siena.
Few kms far there are:
The natural reserve with the river Farma. Such an unspoiltterritory rich in wildfauna as deers, foxes, porcupines, buzzards... . The canions along the river Farma is the ideal place for bathing in the crystal clear water, between natural water falls and swimming pools.
Accesa Lake ( spring water) ; you can enjoy a freshwater swim or observe the wildlife population (pike, trout, tench, mullet, wild ducks and coots).
Petriolo's hot springs, with their sulphoric and therapeutic waters (43°C), have both free entrance at the hot springs and exclusive thermal baths and beuty treatments.
The Sassoforte mountain, 800m higt, offers landscape till to Siene and to the sea with the islands of Giglio, Elba, Montecristo and Corsica which are unddubtely a suggestive view.. On its slopes, among the beech you can also see the ruins of a medieval castle.

HOW TO ARRIVE
Crossing the mail road 223 Siena-Grosseto (exit Civitella Marittima direction Follonica), after about 5 kms follow the indications of the agriturismo Poggio Macinaio.
From the S.S. Aurelia (exit Braccagni) follow the indication Roccastrada. When you arrive in Roccastrada continue for Civitella Marittima; after 5 kms follow the indications of the agriturismo Poggio Macinaio.
